I have been a supporter of Program for Torture Victims for many years…  and have grand admiration for Dr. Quiroga and Ana Deutsch for their work …  -  Brigitte Perreault

PTV FOUNDERS, ANA DEUTSCH AND DR. JOSE QUIROGA RETIRE AFTER 34 YEARS
Pioneers of Torture Rehabilitation Leave A Legacy of Achievement

December 2014 marked the end of an era for the two pioneers of torture rehabilitation and treatment in North America, Ms. Ana Deutsch and Dr.Quiroga.

Ana Deutsch's many honors  include the 2004 Minerva Award, created by California First Lady Maria Shriver.  The Minerva Award has become the country’s most prestigious award given to women “who serve on the front-lines of humanity,” celebrating their extraordinary legacies of service and contributions to California, the nation and the world. Dr. Jose Quiroga, accepted the prestigious Inge Genefke Award in 2012. This international award is given every year by the Anti-Torture Support Foundation (ATSF) to honor individuals who have done outstanding work in the global fight against torture. Recipients are chosen by the board of ATSF, a prominent human rights organization based in Denmark and established by the award’s namesake, Dr. Inge Genefke, another pioneer in the field of torture treatment.

Both entered into the golden age retirement filled with plans of international travel and cherished time with family. We are delighted that Ana and Jose will both volunteer at PTV and continue to attend many of our annual events and client gatherings.

We wish PTV's co-founders an incredible and joyful retirement! Read More About PTV's History...
